Riders of Uber will soon be able pay for a ride through the Uber app with cash instead of using a credit card. This new feature will only be available for riders who have a verified account on Uber. Cash Trips will also only be available between 6am and 10pm.
This feature is currently already available in several other countries and was tested in Colorado Springs, CO between 2016 and 2019. Uber was planning on rolling this feature out nationwide in 2020 but didn’t because of the pandemic. This new feature will be available for riders in the next couple weeks.
How To Set Up Cash Trips For Riders
- All trips will be paid with cash.
- Tap on account on the bottom right of the app.
- Tap on wallet on top middle of screen.
- Tap on add payment method.
- Tap on cash.
