Mandatory Safety Education For Teens

Before a teen can request their first ride, they must complete a safety onboarding process that teaches them about the safety features that are available to them on every ride.

Informed Parents

Parents will have access to live trip tacking and will receive status updates for every trip their teen requests. They will also be able to contact you directly during the trip.

Identifying Teen Rides

When receiving teen rides, your offer card will read “UberX • Teen.” Seeing this means the trip request is from an official teen account holder so there should be no surprise at pickup.

Note: If your rider looks younger then 18 and your offer card did not say “UberX • Teen” you can cancel the trip and select Unaccompanied minor as the reason.

Are Guest Riders Allowed On A Teen Trip?

Yes. When a trip request comes from a teen account:

  • The teen is allowed to bring other riders with them, but they must be 13 years old or older.
  • Guest riders aged 13 to 17 must say that they have permission from a parent or legal guardian.
  • All teens have to sit in the back seat and should buckle up.

Can You Contact The Teen’s Parent?
